Hillman is one step closer to having a community garden with the Ground Breaking Event being held on 9th April 2011. Following expressions of interest last year, the community garden committee has been working hard to develop the concept plans and working with the City of Rockingham to progress the idea and meet all legal and insurance requirements.
Bunnings Rockingham kindly donated a mature ornamental pear tree to commemorate the ground break.
Clayton Chipper has developed the concept plans for an area which will cover more than 1200sq m. The garden design will include all ability and community allotments, workshop, potting and nursery areas. Bore and Solar Panels are on the wishlist.
The project desperately needs volunteers for all aspects of its development. Please call Sandi Kennedy on 0438 938 486 to talk about how you can be involved in the project.
